 New coalition formation issue to be tackled April 12, MP Siumar says

The issue regarding creation of a new parliamentary coalition may be resolved next Tuesday, April 12.

People's Front faction MP Viktoria Siumar told journalists, Censor.NET reports citing Lіga.

"The vote may take place on Tuesday, as it was previously announced. Although we need to understand our situation with the coalition agreement: who will support it, what the situation with the coalition is. Therefore, since the MPs will gather only on Tuesday (April 12 - Ed.), this day will be devoted to the formation of coalition, which will recommend its candidate for the post of prime minister to the president," she said.

Siumar has informed that three lawmakers may join the People's Front faction, though she has not disclosed names of these MPs.

According to Viktoria Siumar, the People's Front advocates that the voting for the candidacy of parliament speaker and prime minister as well as government composition should be held on the same day.

According to her, the extraordinary plenary session is unlikely to be held this week.

It should be reminded that Petro Poroshenko Bloc (PPB) and the Popular Front factions lack four MPs to form a coalition of 226 votes. Also, according to PPB and the Popular Front representatives, the talks on forming a coalition with the Radical Party and Batkivshchyna factions are underway. Samopomich faction refused to take part in any coalition format but promised to support the candidacy of the prime minister.
