According to the update, the militants resumed armed attacks upon the Ukrainian government controlled territory yesterday, April 4.
"The terrorists were occasionally shelling the "new bridge" and a pedestrian crossing in Stanytsia Luhanska village from 9 p.m. to midnight. No destruction or casualties inflicted as a result," the statement reads.
It is also noted that the illegal armed groups committed a mortar strike on the Ukrainian troops' positions in the vicinity of Novozvanivka and Kalynove villages at 1:10 p.m. yesterday: "A soldier of the 59th Brigade was killed and three more servicemen were injured as a result."
"The terrorists continue flagrantly violating the Minsk agreements by committing attacks on villages at the demarcation line. The Luhansk Regional State Administration is concerned by the increase of hostilities in the region and declares that all checkpoints in the area will be closed in case of further escalation," head of the Luhansk regional civil and military administration Heorhii Tuka said.
"I have repeatedly stressed that the safety of soldiers and civilians was key for me," he added.
