 Savchenko goes on indefinite dry hunger strike from April 6. STATEMENT (in Ukrainian)

Member of the Ukrainian Parliament Nadiia Savchenko, sentenced to 22 years in prison in Russia, has announced going on an indefinite dry hunger strike from Wednesday, April 6 demanding her immediate escorting to Ukraine.

Her lawyer Mark Feygin wrote on Twitter, Censor.NET reports.

"Unfortunately, Vira also could not talk Nadiia out of going on a dry hunger strike after my and Polozov's failure. She will go on it April 6!" the lawyer wrote.

"I am going on an indefinite dry hunger strike from April 6, 2016 in protest at the criminal actions of the Russian authorities against me and against Ukraine. I demand my immediate return to Ukraine. I forbid escorting me anywhere other than Ukraine," Savchenko's statement reads.
