 Poroshenko on offshore scandal: "I've stepped down from asset management"

President Petro Poroshenko expects the companies which assumed the management of his assets to provide a full explanation to the media.

Censor.NET reports citing Poroshenko's Facebook page.

"I believe I might be the first top official in Ukraine who treats declaring assets, paying taxes, and conflict of interest issues profoundly and seriously, in full compliance with the Ukrainian and international private law," Poroshenko wrote.

"Having become a president, I am not participating in management of my assets, having delegated this responsibility to the respective consulting and law firms," he added.

As previously noted, the Prosecutor General's Office sees no crime component in the activities of President Poroshenko upon having learnt about his offshore companies in Panama.

Earlier, Roshen factory was reported to have been transferred into the management of the Rothschild group on the basis of the so-called "blind trust."
