As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press office in its report as of 6 a.m. April 4, posted on Facebook.
According to the Staff, militants of pro-Russian gangs conducted 23 cases of shelling upon Ukrainian soldiers, 16 of them at Donetsk direction, five at Mariupol direction, two at Luhansk direction.
"One of the most visible points on the combat activities map is Avdiivka. This is where the strong points of our forces were fired upon six times from enemy mortars. Combining banned weapons of 120-mm and 82-mm caliber, illegal armed gangs were intensifying their fire with shots from automated grenade launchers and small arms," the message reads.
It is also reported that soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at this direction were shelled from large-caliber machine guns near Maiorsk and from grenade launchers near Luhanske, Zaitseve, Opytne, Novhorodske, and Butivka mine.
"At Mariupol direction, Shyrokyne defenders were fired upon by militants from mortars; in the Luhansk region, [militants] using their snipers and small arms fire sprayed Triokizbenka and Stanytsia Luhanska. With the purpose of holding their defense areas, the ATO forces opened retaliate fire four times against the enemy provocations using small arms," the Staff added.
