PPB deputies set to withdraw from coalition, - MP Herasymov

Petro Poroshenko Bloc (PPB) faction may withdraw from the current coalition if negotiations on formation of a new parliamentary majority reach a deadlock.

Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP Artur Herasymov told reporters on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada, Censor.NET reports.

"If the coalition is not formed in the near future, the majority of PPB faction deputies will withdraw from the coalition in order to put an end to these negotiations and insinuations. No matter if it [coalition - ed.] exists legally or not. And it will trigger a countdown to early parliamentary elections," the MP said.

"Most of people's deputies [from PPB - ed.] have written the statements," Herasymov said, adding that he had done it as well.

"This is due to the fact that we do not have the right to keep the country hostage to the crisis between the government and the parliament for a few more weeks. We must move forward quickly," the PPB representative said.

However, he did not specify when the respective statements will be promulgated.

Herasymov also stated Ukraine did not require these elections, as, in his opinion, they will affect the pace of reforms and lead to even bigger populism, "because populist phrases is what politicians run in the elections with."
