 Pro-Russian terrorists shelled Ukrainian positions 49 times yesterday using 120-mm and 82-mm weapons and large-caliber artillery, - Staff

Representatives of the so-called self-proclaimed "Donetsk people's republic" and "Luhansk people's republic" continued shelling the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces' positions yesterday, using Minsk-banned weapons.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the ATO press center in its report as of 6 a.m. March 31, posted on Facebook.

According to the Staff, at Donetsk direction militants were aiming at Avdiivka seven times with mortars. Fire from 120-mm and 82-mm weapons was aimed at Ukrainian defenders near Opytne and Pisky: "The enemy was shelling our positions and aggravated the situation by using artillery of 122-mm caliber."

It is also reported that "DPR" and "LPR" supporters were using mortars against the ATO forces at Mariupol direction as well, namely in Shyrokyne, Pavlopil, Talakivka and Hnutove.

In the Luhansk region, the illegal armed gangs were provoking Ukrainian military with small arms fire, as well as grenade launchers and machine guns of large caliber in the area of Triokhizbenka.

"Although the enemy applied tactics of conducting fire from all calibers simultaneously and increased the intensity of attacks at separate sections of the frontline, the ATO forces' positions remained unchanged. The total of 49 cases of enemy shelling occurred yesterday," the Staff informed.
