72 cases of shelling by pro-Russian militants recorded yesterday; more than 250 missiles hit Zaitseve and Avdiivka, - ATO press center

Pro-Russian militants shelled positions of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces 72 times on March 29, used banned weapons.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the ATO press center in a report as of 6 a.m. March 30, posted on Facebook.

According to the Staff, bandit gangs opened fire upon positions of Ukrainian defenders 72 times yesterday along the entire demarcation line. The enemy was the most active at Donetsk direction.

Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit by the enemy in the area of Maiorsk, Opytne, Novhorodske, Luhanske, Leninske, and Nevelske.

It is also reported that yesterday militants shelled Ukrainian army soldiers near Zaitseve and Avdiivka 22 times, using banned weapons: "The number of enemy missiles of 120-mm and 82-mm, fired upon the ATO forces' positions, was over 250. Near Zaitseve, illegal armed gangs were flagrantly violating the Minsk agreements by using cannon artillery of 152-mm."

At Mariupol direction, positions of Ukrainian forces near Talakivka, Vodiane, Starohnativka were shelled from small arms, grenade launchers, and machine guns of large caliber, while mortars were applied in Shyrokyne area.

The Staff also informed that it was unquiet in the Luhansk region. An automatic grenade launcher fired upon Ukrainian positions in Novozvanivka, and an enemy sniper operated near Shchastia: "A crime against civilians was committed in the western suburbs of Novooleksandrivka. Pro-Russian militants were purposefully shelling civilian houses with a grenade launcher for several minutes."

"It is worth noting that in order to hold their positions, Ukrainian military opened fire 20 times from small arms and grenade launchers. In general, the situation remains difficult but controlled by the ATO forces," the report sums up.
