Head of the Odesa region State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"I was a witness to the fact that when Davit Sakvarelidze was appointed Odesa region prosecutor, the president gave him a mandate to help me fight mafia and reinstate order. He initiated a series of criminal cases on frauds related to Kivalov, mayors across the Odesa region, as well as local representatives of Petro Poroshenko Bloc. His dismissal was justified by a letter signed by boss of the Odesa mafia Kivalov, international swindler Holubev, and PPB representatives. The precedent when a prosecutor is fired at the request of a local, separatist, organized criminal group will have dire consequences," he said.
"This is the case when the president as the guarantor of the constitution must express himself unequivocally, clearly, and sharply. And not because it's in the favor of any of us, but because it's in the favor of the state, the integrity, and the great future of Ukraine," Saakashvili summed up.
