 Shokin dismissed Sakvarelidze as deputy prosecutor general - prosecutor of Odesa region

Davit Sakvarelidze has been discharged from the post of deputy prosecutor general - prosecutor of the Odesa region.

As reported by Сensor.NET referring to PGO press service, the prosecutor's office has repeatedly received collective deputy's appeals regarding the non-compliance of Sakvarelidze's post with articles 8 and 15 of the law on prosecutor's office.

According to the PGO, the validity of the post became the subject of judicial review in the District Administrative Court of Kyiv at the claim of a people's deputy.

Prosecutor General Victor Shokin has brought the structure and staffing of the prosecutor's office in line with the requirements of the law on prosecutor's office by issuing an order on the elimination of the post of deputy prosecutor general - prosecutor of the Odesa region, simultaneously introducing the post of Odesa region prosecutor.

In addition, with his order of March 29, Shokin subjected Sakvarelidze to disciplinary liability for the gross violation of the rules of prosecutorial ethics, intrusion in official activities of another prosecutor, discrediting misconduct, failure or improper performance of official duties, relieving him as deputy prosecutor general - prosecutor of the Odesa region and dismissing him from the prosecution.

Oleh Zhuchenko, the first deputy prosecutor of the Odesa region, has assumed the post of regional prosecutor fro the time being.
