 Latvia erected first three kilometers of fence on border with Russia

First three kilometers of fence have been erected on the Latvian-Russian border, intended to be one of the ways of restraining illegal migrants.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Delfi, it was announced by spokesman of Latvia's State Border Guard Evgenia Poznyak.

The first section of the fence was built in the territory of the Ludza municipality.

The minimum height of the fence on the Latvian-Russian border will be 2.7 meters, including barbed wire.

This year, a €1.8 million contract has been concluded for the construction of 24 km of the fence. Its total length will make 92 km.
