 10 officers promoted to generals within two days by Poroshenko

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko made 10 people generals in one go on the occasion of Security Service Day (March 25) and National Guard Day (March 26).

This is evidenced by decrees published on Presidential Administration official website, Censor.NET reports.

On Friday, March 25, Major General rank was granted to SBU Deputy Head Serhii Badiuk, SBU Main Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime First Deputy Head Pavlo Demchyn, SBU Chernihiv Regional Department Head Oleksandr Dovzhenko, SBU Supplies Department Head Volodymyr Kiptenko, SBU National Statehood Protection Department Head Viktor Kononenko, and SBU Dnipropetrovsk Regional Department Head Vadym Poiarkov.

In addition, Poroshenko awarded the title of major-general of justice to Head of SBU Main Investigation Department Hryhorii Ostafiichuk. Also, MP Andrii Kozhemiakin was promoted to the rank of lieutenant-general on Friday.

On Saturday, March 26, three more people were granted the rank of major general: National Guard Special Operations Department Head Hussein Viskhanov, National Guard Central Territorial Department Head Oleksandr Nabok, and National Guard Communications and Informatization Department Head Volodymyr Shcherbyna.


On March 25, President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree on awarding SBU Head Vasyl Hrytsak the rank of army general.
