The situation in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) remains tense and unstable.

Censor.NET reports citing the ATO press center.

According to the report, the pro-Russian militants fired at the ATO forces' positions for about 44 times over the past 24 hours. Thus, the terrorists shelled Ukrainian soldiers not only with banned mortars, but rocket systems as well. The ATO forces at Zaitseve and Maiorsk repelled four militants' attacks. The militants used 122-mm guns, but Ukrainian soldiers still hold the line.

Avdiivka remains the hottest spot in the Donetsk sector. The terrorists, using a whole arsenal of weapons, didn't manage to outflank the Ukrainian defenders.

Over the last 24 hours, the militants have also attacked the ATO forces' positions at Luhanske, Novhorodske, Maiorsk, Zaitseve, Leninske, Pisky, Opytne, Shyrokyne, Troitske, and Marinka.

In the Lunahsk sector, the terrorists tried to take the Army's stronghold by storm. Ukrainian soldiers joined the battle, defended the positions, and repelled the militants' attack.
