Shokin to remain Prosecutor General of Ukraine, - Kutsenko

Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's General office Vladyslav Kutsenko said that Viktor Shokin will remain at his post after Verkhovna Rada considers the issue of the resignation of the prosecutor general.

Censor.NET reports citing Kutsenko's interview to Ukrainski Novyny.

"I have serious doubts that we will remember other candidates for the post of Prosecutor General after March 29 because the prosecutor general will remain at the post", Kutsenko said.

The Prosecutor's office has evidence that not enough MPs are ready to vote for Shokin's resignation.

"There are three options. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine can meet Shokin's statement of resignation, which I doubt, because according to our data, there are not enough MPs ready to vote for it. But if the statement is met, there are not enough votes for any other candidacy. In this case, first Deputy Prosecutor General Yurii Sevruk will perform the duties," Kutsenko added.
