 SBU apprehended 'DPR' militant trained by Russian curator

The Security Service of Ukraine together with the police apprehended a militant of the 'DPR' terrorist organization in Kramatorsk, the Donetsk region.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the SBU.

According to the report, the local resident joined the terrorists in spring 2014. He pulled armed duty at checkpoints in the town, checking people's IDs and vehicles. He was trained by a Russian curator, the report reads.

Having witnessed numerous robberies of civilians by the militants and due to money shortages, the man laid down his weapons and returned home, where he was hiding from the law enforcement agencies.

Materials are transferred to the police to bring the detainee to responsibility under Part 2 of the Article 260 (participation in activities of illegal paramilitary or armed groups) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
