 Supreme Economic Court judge Shvets apprehended while taking large bribe, - SBU

Judge of Ukraine's Supreme Economic Court Viktor Shvets was apprehended March 24 due to suspicion of bribery.

This was announced by chief of staff of SBU head Oleksandr Tkachuk on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel, Censor.NET informs citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"I can confirm that yesterday evening judge of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine Viktor Shvets was apprehended. He was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe," Tkachuk said.

According to Tkachuk, investigator of the case forbid to disclose details. It is known that the bribe was on a large scale.

The investigation has also documented several facts of taking bribes by Shvets.

In addition, large amounts of money in various currencies were seized from the judge upon search, together with a passport of a citizen of a foreign country.
