Ukrainian soldier downed UAV conducting surveillance of military base, - General Staff

Ukrainian countersabotage squad soldier has shot down an enemy drone.

Censor.NET reports citing the statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Duty soldier of one of the military bases in the central region Dmytro Halchuk duly spotted an unmanned aerial vehicle flying over the facility he was guarding yesterday afternoon. He reported this fact to the command. The measures to strengthen the guard and defense of the military base were immediately taken. According to these measures, countersabotage squad soldier Bohdan Lavoshnyk employed weapon against the drone and neutralized it," the report reads.

It is noted that the conscript whose decisive and skilled actions disrupted the UAV's flight was rewarded with a short-term leave.

It is also reported that in the Armed Forces of Ukraine take measures aimed at strengthening the endurance and fire resistance of the bases, arsenals, and ammunition depots.
