"We are coordinating our actions with the international community as much as possible to put pressure on Russia to release Nadiia Savchenko," Poroshenko said, Censor.NET reports citing the president's press office.
The head of state noted that he had held phone conversations on this issue with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden.
The president said that the actions related to the Savchenko List were coordinated with the international partners.
"The whole world should impose sanctions against 46 people involved in the organization of the mock trial," Poroshenko said.
The meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on sanctions against individuals in the Savchenko List is being currently prepared to be held on behalf of Petro Poroshenko.
The head of state also dramatized the importance of the release of other Ukrainians, illegally held in Russia, including Oleksandr Kolchenko and Oleh Sentsov.
The meeting was also attended by lawyer Viktor Chevhuz and president's spokesperson Sviatoslav Tseholko.
