 Terrorists shelled Ukrainian army positions 53 times yesterday, mostly at Donetsk direction, - ATO press center

Russian mercenaries continue violating the truce and firing upon the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces' positions from Minsk-banned weapons.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the ATO press center in their report as of 6 a.m. March 24, posted on Facebook.

According to the Staff, the total of 53 cases of shelling were conducted by pro-Russian mercenaries upon positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The majority of them were registered at Donetsk direction - 48 times.

"Positions of our soldiers were shelled with mortars at Yakolvivka, Staromykhailivka, Lozove, and near the Donetsk airport. The fire was conducted from 82-mm and 120-mm mortars. The total of over 100 missiles were fired," the report reads.

In addition, positions near Lozova were sprayed by Russian mercenaries from mortars and grenade launchers, as well as a BMP-1 weapon, the press center informs.

The most intensive shelling was recorded at Ukrainian positions in Avdiivka, Zaitseve, Maiorsk, Pisky and Opytne.

"At Mariupol direction, Ukrainian defenders' positions were fired upon near Shyrokyne, Novovyboiivka, Dokuchaievsk. In particular, 120-mm mortars were used here. Near Bohdanivka, an enemy drone was spotted yesterday," the Staff said.
