National Guard would not allow repeating spring 2014 events today, - Allerov

The National Guard of Ukraine would not allow the repetition of the events that took place in the spring of 2014 in eastern Ukraine, when local separatists, supported by the Kremlin, made attempts to turn down Ukrainian authorities in many cities, including now occupied Donetsk and Luhansk.

As reported by Censor.NET, National Guard Commander Yurii Allerov said it on air of 5 Channel.

"Today, we have reached a rapid response level, we have appropriate equipment, we have helicopters, we have planes, that is to say that our response to that threat [in Sloviansk - ed.] would have been prompt, and I am sure that the victory would have been ours. Those events are unacceptable today," he said.

According to him, a new rapid response unit will test the upgraded equipment which is now produced in Ukraine.

"There is a coordinated work of both the government and the minister to ensure that modern Ukrainian-produced equipment be put into service. The presented complexes have been modernized in Ukraine. The new unit will test them. That is, today we are creating such components as rapid response units, sniper schools and test domestic equipment," Allerov said.
