"She is confident that she will be home in a week. You know, I have many times found that my calculations were often wrong in the course of this trial, but her expectations came true. Let's rely on them," the lawyer added.
He also said that he remained Nadiia Savchenko's lawyer despite the fact that she was sentenced yesterday was not going to appeal against it. In addition, Novikov confirmed that Nadiia was not going to ask Russian President Vladimir Putin for granting her a pardon. "Nadiia will not ask for pardon - she has nothing to be pardoned for. Nadiia will not ask to grant her a pardon. But if Putin thinks that it will be appropriate, so be it for God's sake. We will not mind. If it's more convenient way to issue this document, so be it. Any option will satisfy us," Novikov said.
