 Russian terrorists attacked Ukrainian troops 44 times yesterday, shelled Avdiivka with tank and mortars, - Staff

Russian mercenaries continue violating cease-fire deal by assaulting the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces’ positions with weapons banned by the Minsk agreements.

Censor.NET informs citing the situation report by the ATO Staff press center as of 6 a.m. March 23.

According to the Staff, the militants intensified attacks all along the demarcation line in the afternoon. They have committed 44 assaults on the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions. The enemy fired at the Ukrainian troops' strongholds at the Donetsk section of the front with grenade launchers of various systems, high-caliber machine guns, and small arms 38 times.

"Russian mercenaries shelled the ATO forces' positions near Pisky and Opytne with 82-mm mortars. They also shelled defenders of Avdiivka with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars and fired 12 rounds with a tank at about 7 p.m. The enemy launched four projectiles on the Zenit position using powerful 122-mm guns," the report reads.

In addition, it is noted that the militants have employed grenade launchers and machine guns against the ATO forces' strong points near Novhorodske, Zaitseve, Maiorsk, Luhanske, and Verkhniotoretske.

"The ATO forces' positions near Hranitne, Shyrokyne and Novotroitske at the Mariupol sector of the front were attacked with grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns, while the mercenaries additionally employed mortar near Pavlopil," the ATO Staff reported.
