 Court releases Shevtsov due to pressure put by Presidential Administration, - MP Liashko

Vinnytsia court has released former National Police Head in Vinnytsia region Anton Shevtsov, suspected of treason, from custody due to pressure the Presidential Administration put on judges.

Lawmaker Oleh Liashko said on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel, Censor.NET informs.

"The court in Vinnytsia did not have time to hear the case yesterday and released former Vinnytsia region police head Anton Shevtsov from custody allegedly due to ill health. According to my information, the decision was taken due to pressure that was put by the Presidential Administration.

"In particular, Shevtsov was appointed regional police chief under proposal of MP Berezenko, former head of the State Management of Affairs of Ukraine - the person from the president's inner circle," Liashko said.

According to him, Shevtsov was fetched by Berezenko's people after the trial.

"They put him in the car and took to Kyiv, where he was allegedly receiving medical treatment but in fact avoiding liability," the MP said.
