"Oleksandr 'Samba', a scout from the 92nd Brigade, was stabbed today in Kharkiv. 'Kokh' was taken to the hospital No. 4 in a grave condition caused by knife-inflicted wounds... The guys were on vacation spending time in a café. Two attackers were detained," the statement reads.
According to the statement on the Kharkiv police website, the tragedy occurred March 21 after midnight.
"The Kharkiv police have detained a resident of the neighboring region for commission of the gravest crime. Law enforcers of the Kholodnohirsk district police department have exposed a 30-year-old citizen, who killed a 30-year-old man and committed murderous attempt on his 24-year-old companion. The police officers patrolling Pivdennyi railroad station heard screams at 12.40 a.m. today, March 21. Upon arrival on the scene, the law enforcement officers found that a man had stabbed two individuals and attempted to escape from the scene. The attacker was arrested in a hot pursuit.
"It was established that two companions (24 and 30-year-old) were spending spare time in a cafe. They were joined by 30- and 37-year-old men. A conflict developed among them as they were drinking alcoholic beverages. The 30-year-old suspect pulled out a clasp-knife and started stabbing his new friends. The 30-year-old victim died of the wounds on the spot. The 24-year-old man was taken to a hospital with knife-inflicted wounds to the abdomen and shoulder," the police press service added.
The investigator has initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of the Article 115 (premeditated murder) and Part 2 of the Article 15, Part 2 of the Article 115 (murderous attempt) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The detainee faces up to 15 years in jail for the committed crime.
