"I think he (Putin - Ed.) is very straightforward - money is what he cares for rather than people," Polozov said.
According to him, Putin sees Savchenko as some material substance, which can be "put on scales" against some other arrangements.
"Many say: let's exchange Savchenko for Yerofeyev and Aleksandrov. But he doesn't care a straw for Yerofeyev and Aleksandrov - he will easily sacrifice a division or three, if he has to. It's not a question of people, it's the question of financial and political interests that he wants to take advantage of," the lawyer said.
He noted that the pressure put on Putin should eventually force him to liberate the Ukrainian pilot.
