"Putin doesn't care a straw for Yerofeyev and Aleksandrov," - Polozov on possible exchange of Savchenko

Nikolai Polozov, the lawyer of Ukrainian pilot Nadiia Savchenko illegally held in the Russian Federation, believes that Vladimir Putin is holding her for another reason that exchanging for GRU operatives Yevgeniy Yerofeyev and Alexander Aleksandrov.

He said on air of Channel 5, Censor.NET reports citing Liga.

"I think he (Putin - Ed.) is very straightforward - money is what he cares for rather than people," Polozov said.

According to him, Putin sees Savchenko as some material substance, which can be "put on scales" against some other arrangements.

"Many say: let's exchange Savchenko for Yerofeyev and Aleksandrov. But he doesn't care a straw for Yerofeyev and Aleksandrov - he will easily sacrifice a division or three, if he has to. It's not a question of people, it's the question of financial and political interests that he wants to take advantage of," the lawyer said.

He noted that the pressure put on Putin should eventually force him to liberate the Ukrainian pilot.
