 Militants fired about 100 120-mm and 82-mm mortar rounds on ATO troops near Novotroitske, Zaitseve, and Troitske, - Staff

Yesterday, after a relative lull and decrease in the number of attacks, terrorists resumed firing on Ukrainian troops' positions at dusk.

Censor.NET informs referring to anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press center report as at 6 a.m., March 16.

According to the staff, Ukrainian army positions near Novotroitske, Zaitseve, and Troitske turned out to be the hottest spots: "Breaching the Minsk agreements, Russian mercenaries attacked our strongholds - employing 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, they fired about 100 rounds."

"Ukrainian army positions near Avdiivka came under heavy machine gun, grenade launcher, and small arms fire, while strong points near Novhorodske and Luhanske were hit with IFV cannon," the report reads.

As noted, at the Mariupol direction, the enemy opened fire on positions in the vicinity of Shyrokyne.

"At 10 a.m. and around 5 p.m., following mortar attacks, a subversive group of the enemy tried to infiltrate into government-controlled territory in the vicinity on Novotroitske. Thanks to skillful and resolute actions of Ukrainian fighters, the militants were kicked back and forced to drop their criminal intentions," the report notes.

As also reported, delivering random 82-mm mortar, anti-aircraft gun, grenade launcher, and heavy machine gun fire on ATO troops' strong points near Avdiivka, Novhorodske, Nevelske, and Opytne, Russian terrorists tried to provoke return fire. At midnight, occupants halted their attacks.
