Japan calls on Russia to fulfill Minsk agreements and release Savchenko

Japan has urged the Russian Federation to comply with the Minsk agreements and release illegally detained Ukrainian pilot Nadiia Savchenko.

Censor.NET reports citing a statement by the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine.

"Japan is deeply concerned with the health condition of Nadiia Savchenko, Ukrainian pilot and a member of the Rada, who has been detained in Russia since 2014.

"Japan has been calling on all the parties involved to fully implement the 'Package of measures for the implementation of the Minsk agreements,' which includes the release of all hostages and illegally detained persons. This call has been addressed at every level, which includes the foreign minister and prime minister. Japan emphasizes that Nadiia Savchenko is also part of these measures.

"In this connection, Japan appeals for the immediate release of Nadiia Savchenko and continues to urge all relevant parties to comply with the commitments made in the 'Package of measures for the implementation of the Minsk agreements'," the statement reads.
