Presidential envoy to the parliament Stepan Kubiv said after the meeting of faction and group leaders with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Monday, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.
"The prime minister said he was ready to resign, while his political force [People's Front - ed.] demanded that they should see the following: firstly, there should be a candidate [for the post of prime minister - ed.], secondly, a [new government's action - ed.] program, thirdly, a composition [of the new government - ed.]," he said.
"There was a heated debate. Every political force announced its position. Then, the president said that the parliament and democratic [parliamentary - ed.] factions should take responsibility for forming a new, European-oriented coalition based on the democratic forces," he added.
MP Oleh Liashko, the leader of the Radical Party, said after the meeting that Yatseniuk had voiced certain conditions under which he was ready to step down. Liashko also noted that "no reshuffle, including names of candidates for the post of prime minister, was discussed."
