Rich kid Kalynovskyi accused of fatal accident to be tried in absentia, - lawyer Kushnirenko

The Shevchenkivskyi district court of Kyiv will try Serhii Kalynovskyi accused of committing a fatal road accident without his participation.

Censor.NET reports citing UNN quoting Kalynovskyi's lawyer Mykola Kushnirenko.

"The court session will be held today at 1 p.m.," he said. When asked if the defendant would attend the hearing, Kushnirenko replied: "No, he has just undergone a surgery." "The court has decided to have a videoconference during the trial," the defender explained.

In addition, the lawyer said the defense will argue against the trial in absentia. "We're going to oppose it, because we want him to participate and testify," Kushnirenko said.

As reported, Kalynovskyi is the son of oligarch Dmytro Firtash's ex-wife.
