"We are consulting with authorities to help implement the Minsk agreements, put an end to the conflict, and return the uncontrolled territories and people living there back to Ukraine. Not only I personally, but also members of the Opposition Bloc are ready to participate in a format that will allow completing this task," Boiko stressed.
He recalled that the Opposition Bloc from the very beginning had stressed the need to implement the Minsk agreements in order to finally achieve peace in the country and reclaim the uncontrolled Ukrainian territories.
"We want to ensure that elections are held their under Ukrainian laws, after which these territories will be reinstated as Ukrainian. As soon as a legitimate government, recognized by Kyiv, is installed there, the restoration of economic and political relations will start. We want to help our country end the conflict in the East, and we are ready to participate in any format that will enable this," Boiko summed up.
Earlier, Dzerkalo Tyzhnia published an article "Walking on the Minsk field," saying that Putin has agreed to replace Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky with less odious individuals. "We were reliably informed that Poroshenko took interest in "Medvedchuk's plan" stipulating for establishment of administrations in separate areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions that would be headed by the people suiting both Kyiv and Moscow. Apparently, Putin himself offered Poroshenko Rinat Akhmetov and Yurii Boiko as possible candidates. Poroshenko is said to be satisfied with them," the article notes.
