First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Eka Zguladze, her deputy Oleksandr Fatsevych, chairman of the Ternopil Regional State Administration Stepan Barna, as well as mayor of Ternopil Serhii Nadal took part in the ceremony.
"209 patrol police officers took the oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine in Ternopil! Congratulations, we trust you! 4,900 candidates; almost 24 people per one position; tests; commissions; strict selection; ten weeks of intensive training and on the basis of Lviv National University of Internal Affairs from the best teachers and trainers in Ukraine and partner countries. And here they are, 209 new police officers who will come to serve and protect the inhabitants of Ternopil tonight. Every fourth patrol officer on the streets of Ternopil is a girl. More than 80%, that is, almost everyone, have higher education. There are also 24 combatants," Avakov wrote.
