This was announced by Chief Military Prosecutor Anatolii Matios on his Facebook page, Censor.NET informs.
He noted that social media played significant role in the matter of the 53rd brigade [where extremely poor conditions and constant supply violations caused soldiers protest against it - ed.]. He praised the role of Censor.NET's Editor-in-Chief Yurii Butusov in this issue, who covered the matter on his Facebook page as well.
"At the moment, I have postponed all of my duties to respond to Yurii Butusov about the conditions of the 53rd brigade soldiers at the Shyrokyi Lan shooting range. Yurii Butusov knows that I am a fan of a contract army. Professional, small, combat-ready army is what we need. I need, Butusov needs, millions of our citizens need. The country needs," he wrote.
Matios also delved into the matter of the 53rd brigade supplies and living conditions problems, as well as of the investigation related to it.
Chief Military Prosecutor stressed that when the Shyrokyi Lan command did not fulfill its commitments, the soldiers complained to the military prosecutor and it reacted immediately, without blaming the soldiers themselves. According to him, as of today, the brigade's command and higher command have been held administratively responsible for failing to fulfill their duties at the Shyrokyi Lan shooting range.
"NEVER before had officers of this level accounted with their freedom for nonobservance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regulations and making wrong commanding decisions! NEVER before!" Matios stressed.
He assured that military prosecution will do its best to overcome the difficulties on the road of creation of a professional army in Ukraine.
