‘1st Army Corps’ of Donbas terrorists commanded by career officer of Russian army, Major General Asapov, - Intelligence

The Main Investigation Department of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine continues to gather facts of participation of Russian Army career officers in war crimes on temporarily occupied territories of the Donbas for their further transfer to the International Criminal Court.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the authority's press service.

"It has been confirmed that the "1st Army Corps" (Donetsk) [of separatist army - ed.] is commanded by career officer of the Russian army, Major General Valeriy Grigoryevich Asapov (cover name Primakov)," the message reads.

It has been established that Major General Asapov has arrived from the position of 'commander of the 68th army corps of the Eastern Military District of the Armed Forces of Russia (Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk city).'

"On March 3, Asapov conducted a check-up of units of the '9th separate motorized rifle regiment of marines' (Novoazovsk) in the areas of Kozatske and Markine (the Donetsk region)," the Department noted in its message.
