As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press center in a report as of 6 a.m. March 3, posted on Facebook.
According to the staff, 62 cases of Ukrainian army's positions' shelling were reported. Militants are using mortars more and more often.
"At the Donetsk direction, terrorists conducted 34 cases of fire upon strongholds of Ukrainian military. Russian mercenaries shelled strongpoints near Troitske, Kasnohorivka, Opytne, Pisky, Zaitseve, and Luhanske from grenade launchers of various systems and machine guns of large calibers," the message reads.
It is also reported that at the Mariupol direction, militants fired positions in Hnutove and Talakivka from 82-mm and 120-mm mortars, near Novotroitske and Hranitne from IFVs. They used grenade launchers of various systems and large-caliber machine guns to spray Ukrainian strong points near Marinka.
"At 9 p.m. an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group used hand-held grenade launchers and small arms to fire upon a strongpoint near Novotroitske. Having received a fitting rebuff from our soldiers who used an IFV, automatic grenade launcher and small arms, the militants retreated towards Dokuchaievsk," the ATO press center noted.
The staff also added that unaimed mortar fire was conducted upon ATO strongholds near Vodiane, Pavlopil, Talakivka and Hnutove.
