As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced on air of Hromadske.TV by Naftohaz Ukrainy Director for Business Development Yurii Vitrenko.
"They simply do not accept the new rules so far, as they realize they have no legal basis [for any counter actions - ed.], since the contract itself provides for amendments," he said.
Vitrenko also added that in the coming year, taking into account the rise in prices for gas transit, Russia's Gasprom has to pay about $6.4 billion, which is three times as much as in the previous year.
"The new terms stipulate that from now on the conditions are equal for all, and they are determined by the regulator. This is what we require from Gazprom - taking these new rules," he said.
Vitrenko also gave substantiation of the new tariffs for Gazprom. "The new rates are not just a whim of Naftohaz. They are enshrined in the country's legislation after Ukraine implemented the European energy regulations," he concluded.
