 Trade between Ukraine and Russia continues plunging, - National Bank

The export of goods from Ukraine to the Russian Federation decreased by 48 percent to $121 million in Jan. 2016 compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the imports from Russia slumped by 60.6 percent, or more than 2.5 times - to $246 million.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) informed, Censor.NET reports citing Liga.

The goods turnover between the two countries fell by 57.8 percent in Jan. 2016 to $367 million, which is more than 2.3 times. The negative balance decreased threefold and amounted to $125 million.

The NBU noted that the share of Russian imports of commodities decreased to 10.1 percent in January compared to 19.3 percent in 2015 due to energy imports plunge by 2.1 times. Russia's export share fell to 6.6 percent from 8.6 percent in Jan. 2015.
