 Patrol policeman Oliinyk released under house arrest by court

Patrol police officer Serhii Oliinyk, who had shot a man dead during the night pursuit on Feb. 7 in Kyiv, has been released under house arrest by a decision of the Appeal court of Kyiv city.

This was announced by adviser to interior minister Anton Herashchenko on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.

"He has been released in the court room! Dozens of interrogations, expertise and search for truth await for him. But it's very important that patrol police officers will know that no one will let to destroy them for nothing! Justice exists, and it's worth and should be fought for," Herashchenko wrote.

Police officer Serhii Oliinyk was arrested due to accusation of murder of a 17-year-old passenger of the car that police pursued on Feb. 7 in Kyiv.

Earlier, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov announced he was ready to bail out patrol police officer Oliinyk.
