 Prosecution asks for 23 years in prison for Savchenko: "Lord, what a shame"

Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation is asking for 23 years in prison and a 100,000-ruble fine for Ukrainian aviatrix Nadiia Savchenko.

This was announced by the prosecutor during the trial, Censor.NET's correspondent reports from the courtroom in Russia's Donetsk, the Rostov region.

Russian prosecutor is asking the court to announce Ukrainian pilot Nadiia Savchenko guilty of murder of Russian TV channel employees, assassination attempt against other civilians, and illegal crossing of the Russian border. The prosecution is requesting 23 years in a general regime penal colony and a fine of 100,000 RUB for the total of violated articles.

"Lord, what a shame" was the reaction of Savchenko's lawyer Mark Feygin.

The defendant addressed the prosecution with the following words: "Prosecutors, you will get what you ask, all of you! You will serve 23 years!"

The trial left for a 10-minute break, after which Nadiia Savchenko is expected to respond to the prosecutors' accusations.

Censor.NET's correspondent witnessed that during the break, Savchenko's lawyer Ilya Novikov apprroached her asking: "What are you going to say?"
