As informed by Censor.NET, this was announced in the report of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press center as of 6 a.m. March 2, posted on Facebook.
According to the ATO staff, 47 cases of shelling were reported yesterday, 29 of them at the Donetsk direction, 15 at the Mariupol direction, and three at the Luhansk direction.
"At the Svitlodarsk salient, the enemy fired upon our strong points in Maiorsk from 82-mm mortars, in Zaitseve and Novhorodske - from grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns. Not far from temporarily occupied Donetsk, Ukrainian positions in Opytne, Pisky and Avdiivka were again shelled from various types of weapons," the message reads.
It is also reported that the situation was unquiet in Marinka and Krasnohorivka area: "In violation of the Minsk agreements, militants were conducting fire against the positions of our units from mortars in Talakivka, Chermalyk, Hnutove, Krasnohorivka, and Nevelske. Over the past day, terrorists shelled Ukrainian military eight times, having fired 58 shells."
The staff also notes that after midnight, the enemy slowed down its activities.
Ukrainian soldiers were opening retaliate fire from small arms in response to the invaders' shelling.
