The parties have discussed issues of the security and defense cooperation between the countries.
The interlocutors have also exchanged views on the hybrid war, which the Russian Federation waged against Ukraine and Europe, as well as the issue of extension of the sanctions against Russia.
According to Turchynov, the sanctions were not a gift to Ukraine, but "first of all, the opportunity to protect Europe from the Russian aggression and the contempt for international law its leaders are demonstrating".
In addition, the NSDC Secretary has stressed that Ukraine had got no alternative to European and Euro-Atlantic integration. "The example of the Baltic States is the one Ukraine must follow on its way to Europe," he stressed.
In turn, Kristjan Prikk noted that "Estonia's position is that the sanctions against Russia must not be lifted until Ukraine's sovereignty is restored."
"Ukraine can count on Estonia's support on its path to the European Union," he added.
