"From now on all drunk drivers will be confident in own impunity," - police head comments on verdict for Khrapachevskyi

The Head of the National Police of Ukraine deems the pretrial restriction imposed against BMW driver Rostyslav Khrapachevskyi, whose passenger has been gunned down by the police as a result of the night chase in Kyiv, to be unjust. The driver was released on his own recognizance.

National Police Head Khatia Dekanoidze wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET informs.

"I had a little glimmer of hope until the last moment that the court will make an equitable decision in the case of the rabid BMW and its driver. But it turned out that the police officer, who carried out his duties and tried to stop the illegal actions of a person under influence of alcohol and drugs, has ended up in jail himself, while the driver, who was ready to knock people down by car moving at insane speed, has been released by the court on his own recognizance," she wrote.

"Be vigilant and keep your eyes open! From now on all drunk drivers of rabid cars will be confident in own impunity, since there will always be a court that will release them!" Dekanoidze summed up.
