According to the message, a witness dialed police at 102 and said he saw a red VAZ car damaged a parked Audi and left the scene.
"After three minutes the driver was stopped. The level of alcohol in his blood was nine times higher than allowed. The patrol officers started to file a protocol for drunk driving, when the driver, who looked calm, jumped into his car and pulled off. Moreover, he hit a police officer and dragged him on the hood. He even attempted to speed up, but was threatened with weapons, and the car stopped," the message reads.
It is noted that after that, the man attempted to run away, but fell to the ground and broke his nose. He was apprehended and transferred to investigators. The patrol officers filed a report for the 31-year-old violator under article 342 of the Criminal Code - arrest resisting.
Police also informed that the detainee had served two times in jail for robbery. He was taken to a police department.
The police officer hit by the car did not require hospitalization, the press service noted.
