Crimea became area of disaster in human rights field, – Pyatt

The human rights situation is catastrophic in Crimea.

Geoffrey R. Pyatt, the United States Ambassador to Ukraine, told ZIK TV Channel, Censor.NET reports.

Crimea became an area of disaster in human rights field, the Ambassador said. According to him, the United States used its presence in the UN Human Rights Commission to report on crimes committed by the Russian Federation regarding the occupation of the Crimea. This is a very important question, Pyatt stressed.

The annexation of the Crimea did not disappear from American diplomatic radar, the Ambassador reiterated. The problem is present in ongoing dialogue between the United States and Russia. The U.S. didn't, isn't, and won't recognize the annexation of the peninsula by Russia. It is the country's clear policy, the ambassador added.
