The situation in the ATO (anti-terrorist operation) area was tense last night. Pro-Russian militants actively fired at the Army’s positions from 6 p.m..

The village of Krasnohorivka became the hottest spot in the ATO zone. Ukrainian strongholds in the village were shelled with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, Censor.NET reports citing the ATO press center.

According to the report, the position of Ukrainian troops near Luhanske, Zaitseve, Avdiivka, Pisky, Opytne, and Marinka were fired by pro-Russian terrorists from small arms, heavy machine guns, and grenade launchers of various caliber.

Maiorsk and Troitske were fired from grenade launchers and heavy machine guns.

After midnight, the shelling activity decreased slightly. Around 3:00 a.m., Ukrainian stronghold at Pisky was fired from grenade launchers and small arms.

Attacks of the militants were also reported in the Luhansk sector. Thus, the militants shelled the ATO forces' positions at Bohuslavske with 82-mm mortars, provoking Ukrainian soldiers to fight back. Ukrainian troops ignored provocations by the militants over the past 24 hours and did not fire back.
