 Collapse of house in Kyiv: State Emergency Service confirms one dead, one trapped

At least one person was killed yesterday in nonresidential house collapse on Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street in Kyiv.

State Emergency Service in Kyiv First Deputy Head Valerii Borys said, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"The death of one man is 100 percent confirmed. As for another person trapped under the rubble, no signs have been recieved from him so far, but we'll talk about his condition, when we pull him out," the rescuer said.

At this, he denied any speculations in media about three victims.

"Yesterday, we rescued six people, one of them died. We continue to remove the debris, but it is difficult to say how more time we'll need. All works are carried out manually. In addition, the site does not allow engaging many people simultaneously," Borys noted.

According to him, the rescuers are going to lift the concrete floor slab which fell as a result of the collapse. After that, more information will follow.
