 US strives to support Ukraine and promote Minsk agreements implementation, - US Secretary of State

U.S. still considers occupation of Crimea illegal while substantial part of conversations, held by President Barack Obama’s with Vladimir Putin, have been dedicated to Russia's war against Ukraine.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said delivering a speech to the House of Foreign Affairs Committee, Censor.NET reports citing ZN.UA.

According to him, the conflict in Ukraine has not faded into insignificance and Washington is doing its best for Moscow to perceive the price it pays for its aggression in the Donbas and Crimea.

John Kerry said that the U.S. invests strong efforts to support Ukraine and promote implementation of Minsk agreements. According to him, President Obama already had several conversations with President Putin in recent months where a half of the time was devoted to the Ukrainian issue, full implementation of the Minsk agreements, and responsibility for preservation of territorial integrity of Ukraine.

He also assured that the White House deemed annexation of Crimea the crime which Russia should be held accountable for. However, Kerry acknowledged that the U.S. was actually paying more attention to the war in the Donbas than the occupied Ukrainian peninsula.

At the same time, the U.S. Secretary of State refused to recognize that Russia posed the greatest threat to his country giving the palm to the Islamic terrorists.
