According to the Staff, the situation at the Donetsk direction was the tensest. The enemy committed 69 assaults on the ATO forces' positions there using mortars, grenade launchers, high-caliber machine guns, and small arms.
"Our strong points near Avdiivka, Pisky, Opytne, Zaitseve, Maiorsk, and Pervomaiske, as well as Butivka mine and 'Zenit' position were shelled with 82-mm and 120-mm mortars.
"The enemy employed anti-aircraft guns against positions of the Ukrainian military in Opytne, and IFV guns in Krasnohorivka," the report reads.
In addition, the Ukrainian soldiers' positions near Talakivka, Chermalyk, and Vodiane at the Mariupol direction came under mortar strikes.
"The number of attacks of the Russian mercenaries decreased after midnight. Sporadic assaults with grenade launchers and small arms were committed against positions near Opytne," the Staff noted.
