Officer Oliinyk's lawyer Serhii Mitiurin noted at the press conference that his client tendered his first resignation Dec. 5, 2013, Censor.NET correspondent reports.
"His resignation requests were not considered but it was psychologically difficult for him to work in that system. He was finally dismissed in March 2014. Moreover, his dismissal was based on his request of Dec. 5," the lawyer said.
Serhii Mitiurin noted that Oliinyk "was not hiding and did not conceal the fact that he was inquiring into the matter regarding the Maidan as inspector of the Kyiv's Obolon district police precinct.
"He has been investigating only one inquiry into the Maidan, which still makes him feel guilty," the lawyer said.
