 No lull in Donbas at night as terrorists committed 44 attacks on Ukrainian Army positions, - ATO press center

The Russian-backed militants have intensified attacks on the Ukrainian troops’ positions overnight.

Censor.NET informs citing the situation report by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press center as of 6 a.m. Feb. 22.

According to the headquarters, the terrorists fired at the Ukrainian Army positions 44 times. The greatest number of attacks was committed at the Donetsk direction: the enemy employed 82-mm mortar in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka and sniper attacks were recorded there.

The enemy fired at the Ukrainian troops' positions near the Donetsk airport with small arms, high-caliber machine guns, and grenade launchers of various systems.

The Russian-terrorist forces were shelling Butovka mine with automatic grenade launchers over an hour.

"The enemy was assaulting the Ukrainian strongholds near Avdiivka, Opytne, Pisky, Luhanske, Novhorodske, Zaitseve, and Troitske. The strong points near Marinka, Vodiane, and Zaitseve were fired at with grenade launchers of various systems and small arms. The terrorists provided indiscriminate fire at the checkpoint near Marinka defended by the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service with the automatic grenade launchers," the report reads.
