"No one will ever be able to return Ukraine in Soviet or pro-Russian past," – PM Yatseniuk

Ukraine's policy of rapprochement with Europe is irreversible.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk said during his weekly address to the nation, Censor.NET reports citing the government portal.

"Speaking about European Ukraine, who would have thought two years ago that we would sign an agreement on political association with the European Union after all; that the Ukrainian economy would be part of the unified European one; that Ukrainian citizens would obtain the right of visa-free travel to the European Union; that we would become Europeans; that we would cross the borders of the European Union without obstacles and visas in our Ukrainian biometric passports and would feel proud members of the great European family," the head of the Ukrainian government said.

"And we have done it and this policy is irreversible. No one will ever be able to return Ukraine in the Soviet or pro-Russian past. It is an independent sovereign state, which has been achieved by each of you, by each of us, when we were standing on the Maidan, and due to our everyday struggle for the values of the Maidan," Yatseniuk said.

He also stressed: "We must only move forward. We, the Ukrainians, will never surrender. We have been fighting and will keep doing so. We have been victorious and will keep winning."
